Formation

Formation happens through worship, community, service, and small group gatherings on-line or in person.

  • A weekly Wednesday book group where readers delve into works by Christian authors such as John Dominic Crossan, Rachel Held Evans, Marcus Borg, and others.
  • “Everybody Reads”: An occasional parish-wide book study to do on your own or in an on-line gathering.
  • Occasional Sunday forums on a variety of topics, led by a member of the clergy, lay leaders, or special guests
  • The Catechumenate: A long and ancient word for baptismal preparation and renewal that we all share at Easter. Those interested in going deeper gather weekly during the seasons of Epiphany and Lent to explore scripture and their own Christian vocation.

Children’s Formation

Children of all ages participate in our community worship and we love it when they contribute in whatever way they can. (Nothing makes us happier than a kid gleefully running up and down our aisles.) We offer a soft space in the back of the sanctuary for kids who want to color or play. Older children serve as acolytes and readers. We believe that all of this is a form of children’s formation; we plan to develop a more formal children’s offering in the coming year.
